I’m the creator/writer/editor and photographer of this fancy blog. I live in New York City with my husband André and two adorable (messy) kitties. I live near Central Park because I’m both lucky and would never survive without it! Four seasons. Count them: four seasons to escape the craziness of this incredible city.
I launched thefieryredhead in 2012 after too many years of magazine reading and collecting (that’s before Pinterest, kids). I hope you’ll find inspiration in all the sweet and tasty veggie (recipe) love, be compelled to jump on a plane with all these gorgeous travel photographs and stories, and are persuaded to open yet another bottle of wine! I am full of Irish dreams, drool over French style and am constantly in awe of nature’s majesty. And yes, I’m running out of places for all the corks…thank goodness for digital scrapbooks!
When a dear friend and I get together, we plan our visits around what we’re going to eat and what wine we’re going to drink. We talk about our travels and our dreams. As he put it very well, “It’s all about comfort, Jen!” Life’s too short to not live well; Enjoy all the delicious wonders!
I love animals so much that I went veggie at 18, inspiring many long and lettuce-filled evenings in my small but charming kitchen (it’s Manhattan!). I also relish wine tasting near home on Long Island’s North Fork and out to Sonoma, California. Last fall’s trip to Bordeaux and St. Emilion was a dream come true. Next stop, Morocco and South America! As a budding oenophile, I am thrilled to pass on my favorite wines. And I love painstakingly documenting my trips near and far…so many photographs! My sensitive yet nomadic Irish soul makes me wander. Ah, redheads.
I got started in this world by writing and editing (both by hand and digitally!) for companies like: Disney Press, Hyperion Books for Children, Grosset & Dunlap, Penguin, Scholastic, McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & Sons and MLB.com.
