Bet you didn’t think you would see me on a boat again after my “cruise” to the Cliffs of Moher. Throwing fear to the wind, the only way to tour New York’s harbor is on a tall clipper ship! Smooth sailing (truly) ahead!
Once the sails went up, the rocking at the dock stopped and we glided along next to small sailboats and ferries running between the various islands in the harbor. Naturally, the lady was on display.
The sky was a bit foreboding when we first set sail but a push in the right direction brought us sunnier and bluer climes.
With views of Brooklyn, Staten Island, Governors Island, Ellis Island, New Jersey and downtown Manhattan, it was tough to look in just one direction.
And that glorious downtown view.
This was a fantastic way to tour the New York waterway. It was a calm and peaceful way to see the city – check out Manhattan By Sail. The crew was great – no noisy loudspeakers and nothing in your way! (There is a bar on board and they do specialty cruises too.)
