Head down Market Street to the Ferry Building on The Embarcadero along the San Francisco Bay. Aside from the many ferry terminals, there are fantastic restaurants, every kind of food shop you can imagine and a tremendous farmer’s market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Chocolate, bread, cheese, wine, ice cream…it’s mecca for foodies!
The public transportation center of the city, it connects the bay communities and many neighborhoods by BART, MUNI, ferries and the historic trolley cars! Hop on one of the F Line trollies to head to a Giant’s game at AT&T Park. Or head the other way to visit Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower. On a sunny day take one of the open-air trollies!
Grab lunch from one of the many vendors and head out back for stunning views of the bay and nearby Bay Bridge. Watch the ferries coming in from Sausalito and Tiburon (make sure have a jacket for that bay breeze!) while popping sushi rolls, sipping a cup of tea or savoring a farm-fresh ice cream cone. There are a lot of photo opportunities here…
Make this a stop on your tour of one of the most walkable and beautiful cities in the United States. Don’t forget your jacket (and comfortable shoes for those hills)! Enjoy!
