This 2011 Victorian Shiraz named Matilda is a gorgeous jeweled hue. It is herbal with white pepper and even a hint of mint on the nose. But bright, ripe raspberry and cherry fruit greet you with one sip. This is smooth and silky and continues to open to more tobacco and earthy terroir. Make no mistake, this is an Australian wine made by a Frenchman and has the nose to prove it.
Winemaker Michel Chapoutier is a seventh generation winemaker with strong and proud Rhône roots. A pioneer in biodynamic practices in winemaking in France, he has brought his expertise and passion to Australia to create some thrilling Shiraz.
