With thoughts of being in the sunshine and near the water…this is Pompano Beach, Florida.
I grew up about a mile from this spot in South Florida. Days at the beach with a view of the lighthouse and even a climb to the top with the girl scouts (it’s really hot at the very top!) were part of my childhood. The Hillsboro Lighthouse is on an inlet that is used every day by boaters heading out from the intracoastal to the ocean. Many years ago, there were barely any homes nearby and it was a sleepy, tiny place. But even now, the lighthouse is tucked in on it’s sandy perch, overlooking the daily scene. I’m thankful that the lighthouse will always be a beacon not just for the seafarers but for me returning home each season.
