Happy Wine Wednesday! Today’s wine is a Pinot Noir. A white Pinot Noir. Get ready for a surprise!
Make a visit to The Winemaker’s Studio in Peconic a priority on your list when touring the North Fork. With choices from six different winemakers in the area, you will surely find a new favorite. Anthony Nappa has been making wine in Long Island for Shinn Estate since 2007 and now Raphael since 2012, while continuing to create his own small label wines.
I recently fell in love with another one of Nappa’s wines, Bliss Rosé. And then I tried Anomaly. Another new favorite. This is “summer in a glass”, as the pourer will gladly tell you! But it’s true. It is described as Pinot Noir, stripped down. This fantastic wine is a pale salmon color with a soft floral nose. It is supple and glossy with notes of white cherry and honey. A touch of sweetness and spice on finish. It is delightful. I dare you not to love it.
As we head into the tailwinds of summer, this would be a fantastic way to celebrate. It can be found in some New York City restaurants and is distributed through Long Island, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. And if you’re lucky enough to be nearby, visit The Winemaker’s Studio. Plus, they have happy hour every day from 5-7 p.m! Cheers!
