Today’s wine is from the Peconic Bay Vineyard on the North Fork of Long Island. Harvest has just begun on Long Island as they prepare another year’s bounty. However rosé is still very much on the mind as we soak up the fleeting days of summer.
This particular rosé comes from their sister brand, Nautique. Esprit de Rosé is a medium-bodied, deep-rouge colored rosé. It has lovely, light fruit on the nose such as strawberry and white peach. These notes of fruit along with a slight earthiness lend to a pepper finish on the palate. 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Riesling and 6% Merlot resulted in a crowd-pleasing, refreshing rosé that flows nicely on a warm Summer day or cooler Autumn night. This also pairs well with food and should be enjoyed through the coming months.
